Father/Son artist duo James and Brennan Hubbell will release brand new works – available exclusively through Sparks Gallery.
James Hubbell is an artist who is connected to nature and his inner dreams which he expresses through architecture and art. He sculpts one-of-a-kind living environments from natural materials that provide shelter and inspiration for those who wish to live in harmony with nature. For more than 50 years he has given the world an inspiring vision of nature as expressed in mosaic, stained glass, wood carving, metal shapes, sculpted concrete, patterned brickwork and stone. His art and architecture has been embodied in homes, schools, gardens, pavilions, nature centers, monasteries, museums, and peace parks around the world. His is the founder and guiding light of the Ilan-Lael Foundation
Brennan Hubbell began creating art as soon as he could walk. Even as a kindergartener, he helped build Ilan-Lael, the art and nature center, which is now home to his parents Anne and James Hubbell and Hubbell Studios. Growing up in the country, he learned how to live and create in tandem with the outside environment. With the nature-loving seed planted at a young age he continued creating nature-based art through early adulthood. His work is wide ranging from large public sculptures to smaller commissions in a variety of materials including mosaic, wood, iron and featuring often water and light. He also works in video documentation. Hubbell majored in Fine Arts at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
